Bell-ringing festival, Kizhi island 2017.
After decades of prohibition in Russia, bell-ringing has followed a unique road to make a comback.
Bell-ringers follow the tradition as no tree can grow without roots. But to encourage the tree to grow up wide sand develop further, bell ringing concerts and festivals are more and more held in this country.
For several years, the Kizhi open-air museum has organized bell-ringing festivals where on light-weight wooden bell-towers, under wide northern skies, leading Russian bell-ringers demonstrate their art.
